A Paducah woman was arrested after a two-vehicle collision that sent one person to the hospital Wednesday night in McCracken County.
Deputies were dispatched to U.S. 45 South near Krebs Station Road around 8:24 in reference to a 2005 Cadillac SUV traveling north in a southbound lane at a high speed. Deputies were told that the driver, later identified as 67-year-old Linda F. Garrett of Paducah, had run vehicles off the road. The deputies were then notified that Garrett had struck an oncoming 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Emma J. Willett, 74, also of Paducah, McCracken County Sheriff's Deputy David Clark reported in a news release.
Deputies determined Garrett was under the influence of an intoxicating substance and arrested her. She was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol (aggravated circumstances), first-degree criminal mischief and four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment,.
Willett was taken to a hospital with non-incapacitating injuries. One lane of U.S. 45 South was closed about 45 minutes.
