A Farmington man faces several charges in connection with two break-ins which occurred Tuesday night, according to the Graves County Sheriff's Department.
According to the sheriff's report, the break-ins occurred at Bob and Ann's Market in Sedalia, where an estimated $6,000 in tobacco products and several bags of dog food were stolen, and at Skinny's Used Cars in Mayfield, which reported the theft of a Chevy Impala along with other items.
Deputies spotted the Impala on Wednesday in Sedalia on Ky. 381 and, following a traffic stop and search of the vehicle, Karl Alexander, 40, was arrested. Items from the market and car business were recovered from the vehicle, deputies said, and Alexander also led deputies to a creek bed in Calloway County were more stolen property was discovered.
In addition, a search of Alexander's hotel room in Mayfield revealed several cartons of tobacco products, along with dog food and a small amount of cash, according to the sheriff's report.
Alexander was taken to the Graves County Jail and charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, first- and second-degree criminal mischief, tampering with physical evidence, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and possession of burglary tools.
