Traffic stop leads to arrest

Staff report

A Kentucky State Police traffic stop Tuesday on Interstate 24 resulted in the arrest of a Washington state man and seizure of more than 75 pounds of marijuana, according to police reports.

According to police, a vehicle driven by Michael D. Wilson, 37, of Edmonds, Washington, was stopped around 2 p.m. near the 47-mile marker in Lyon County for an alleged traffic violation.

Police said during the stop officers saw indicators of criminal behavior.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, police allegedly discovered marijuana edibles as well as over 75 pounds of "high-grade" marijuana.

Wilson was charged with trafficking marijuana greater then 5 pounds (a felony) and taken to the Caldwell County jail, police said.
