A warrant was issued this week for the arrest of a man police believe was involved in a February shooting at Welch Court in Murray.
The warrant was issued for Monyea Iseka Williams, 20, for first-degree assault after Murray Police Department investigators identified him as the person who allegedly shot Kendarion Jennings in the parking lot of 51 Welch Court on Feb. 20, according to Murray police.
Williams is an active soldier stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. He was visiting Murray on the date of the shooting, police said.
The U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command at Fort Leonard Wood assisted Murray police, and U.S. Marshals in Missouri were able to apprehend him there. He was taken to Pulaski County Jail awaiting extradition. The Kentucky Commonwealth Attorney's Office signed to have Williams brought back to Kentucky to face the assault charge.
