Livingston deputies search for armed robbery suspect

Staff report

The Livingston County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's help identifying a man suspected of committing an armed robbery in the parking lot of the Lake City Dollar Store on Sunday morning.

The male suspect entered the store around 10:42 a.m., purchased some items with cash and left. He then entered a vehicle in the parking lot and began looking through its contents. The vehicle's owner, who had been shopping in the store, came out and confronted the man, who told her to get away from him and threatened her with a gun. The man allegedly took several items from inside the vehicle, including cash, Chief Deputy Devin Brewer said in a news release.

The suspect left the store and headed west toward Marshall County on U.S. 62 in what police believe is either a black Chevy Trailblazer or a GMC Envoy, Brewer reported.

According to Brewer's report, the suspect is African-American, weighs between 180 and 200 pounds and stands between 5-feet-10 and 6-feet tall. He has an athletic build and was wearing a black tank top, a gray cap and a pair of athletic shorts. The sheriff's office requests anyone who has information about the crime to contact the Livingston County Sheriff's Office at 270-928-2122 or the Kentucky State Police at 1-800-222-5555.
