Single-vehicle crash sends two children to hospital

Staff report

A single-vehicle crash Friday morning sent two passengers to the hospital.

McCracken County sheriff's deputies said Nikkie Barnes, 24, of Symsonia, was driving a blue 2005 Pontiac Montana north in the 1600 block of Oaks Road when the vehicle dropped off the roadway, went into a ditch, and scraped a utility pole.

Barnes' passengers, Bentley Barnes, 6, and Cali Sweeney, 10 months, were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
