CLINTON, N.Y. -- A group of students from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, are making the trip from Central New York to Kentucky to do community service work during part of their spring break, March 19-25.
The Hamilton students will work at Land Between the Lakes, where they will help with the maintenance of the 1850s working farm by doing repairs and building fences. Volunteers will also help to get the facilities up and running for the tourist season.
This trip is part of Hamilton's 24th Alternative Spring Break, an annual volunteer venture that this year consists of more than 70 students going on eight service trips to nonprofit organizations. The groups will travel south for week-long construction projects, direct service work with children or environmental service.
