Softball meeting set for Monday

Staff report

Paducah Parks is now coordinating summer adult softball leagues.

Parks Services will host a team manager and informational meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Paducah Recreation Center, 1527 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The team manager or a representative from each team in the men's and coed leagues should attend, city spokeswoman Pam Spencer said.

Those who do not have a team and who are interested in being free agents should attend this meeting or contact recreation specialist Taylor Morsching to find a team to join, as Parks Services does not handle individual registrations.

To maintain competitiveness in each league, Parks Services reserves the right to specify in which league a team participates. Registration begins at the Monday meeting with a registration deadline of Tuesday, April 4.

The registration fee is $400 per team, and a team roster will need to be submitted during registration.

The first week of games will be April 17-19. All leagues will be slow-pitch and are on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights at Stuart Nelson Park.

For more information about the softball leagues and if you are interested in becoming an umpire for the softball leagues, contact Morsching at tmorsching@paducahky.gov or 270-444-8508 ext. 4.
