Gov. Matt Bevin and the Department of Local Government announced Thursday that 20 Land and Water Conservation Fund grants totaling $758,000 have been awarded. The grant money will be used to maintain and develop parks and facilities.
"These projects offer a unique opportunity to invest dollars directly for the benefit of people in local communities throughout the commonwealth," said Sandra Dunahoo, Department of Local Government commissioner. "The vast outdoor resources of our commonwealth are available to be enjoyed by everyone."
Several area municipalities are grant recipients. They are:
â ¢ Crittenden County, $30,000 for the Dam 50 Boat Dock project.
â ¢ Graves County, $22,500 for the Mayfield-Graves County Baseball Park improvement.
â ¢ City of Benton, $75,000 for the city pool house.
â ¢ Kentucky Department of Parks in Trigg County, $11,323 for the Lake Barkley State Resort Park wheelchair accessible trail.
