Sunday liquor sales in county offered as means to raise money
METROPOLIS, Ill. — Massac County employees will receive their paychecks this week. The Massac County Commission received about $78,000 from the state, enabling Massac to meet the county’s $97,000 payroll.
The state paid about $54,000 in income taxes late Friday afternoon and issued a $24,000 check Tuesday morning to pay its highway employees working in Massac County, said county treasurer Floyd Sullivan.
