FRANKFORT -- Representing the Professional Insurance Agents of Kentucky as president, Paducah insurance agency owner Jared Morgan, CIC, CRM along with fellow board members Stan Logan and Donna Pile met with 1st District Congressman James Comer while in Washington, D.C., for PIA's annual Federal Legislative Summit.
During Morgan's meeting with Comer issues including health care, tax reform, National Flood Insurance Program reauthorization, state based regulation of insurance and crop insurance were discussed. Morgan, along with Professional Insurance Agents members from all over the country, visited D.C. to encourage Congress to defend state regulation of insurance; abolish the Federal Insurance Office; provide a long-term authorization of the National Flood Insurance Program; and protect a strong and stable crop insurance program as part of the new Farm Bill.
In addition, Professional Insurance Agents will support a clear and simple tax code, and reduction in individual and corporate income tax rates for small businesses, and will oppose tax provisions or regulations that impede small business growth.
Morgan, as well as the other summit attendees, found Comer and other legislators to be receptive to Professional Insurance Agents' issues, and willing to offer support.
Morgan is president of American Church Group of Kentucky, 621 Broadway.
