Jim Brown, CFP, senior vice president-wealth management, and Paula Connell, CFP, senior vice president-wealth management, were both named to the presidents council for UBS Americas for 2017. This council is reserved for the top 15 percent of financial advisors in the country for UBS Wealth Management Americas. Both Brown and Connell have been with UBS for 34 years and in the financial services industry for 37 years.

Jamey R. Brown, CFP, senior vice president-wealth management, was named to the directors council for UBS Americas for his wealth management business and was also named to this year's leadership council for his management role within the firm both for 2017. The directors council is reserved for the top 20 percent of financial advisors in the country while the leadership council is reserved for the top five percent of managers in the country for UBS Wealth Management Americas. Brown has been with UBS for 15 years.

Melissa Breeden received a title promotion to wealth management associate, reserved for the top client service associates in UBS Americas. Prerequisites for obtaining this title include meeting licensing requirements, a rigorous wealth management training program, and a proven history of excellence in serving clients. Breeden has been with UBS for 19 years and in the financial services industry for 26 years.

Pam Walker has been promoted to vice president at The Murray Bank. She joined the bank in 1999, one of the original nine employees and the first employee hired by Ronnie Gibson, then president and chairman of the board. Walker most recently served as vice president of deposit operations.

Twenty law enforcement executives from agencies across Kentucky recently graduated from the Criminal Justice Executive Development program, an advanced leadership course designed for supervisors at small- and medium-sized agencies across the state. Those graduates included: Chris Garland, Murray Police Department; Justin Crowell, Paducah Police Department; and Mark Nichols, Trigg County Sheriff's Department. The four-week course focuses on identifying, analyzing and solving problems as well as leadership, personnel administration, operations, fiscal management, executive and environmental relationships.

Four officers with the Murray Police Department recently graduated from the Basic Training Academy at the Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond. Completing the 23-week academy certifies participants as peace officers. During the training, participants identify, discuss, and demonstrate learning in many areas of performance required of officers. Murray officers included: Alyssa Lelm, Aaron Lane, Trista Colson, and Wesley Wright. During the academy, Lane received the coordinators award and Wright, the most improved award in fitness and defensive tactics.

The Advanced Wound Healing Center at Jackson Purchase Medical Center has been recognized with a national award for clinical excellence, as a Center of Distinction. The award is awarded by Healogics, a leading wound care management company. The center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a wound healing rate of at least 91 percent in less than 31 median days.

Two Paducah Edward Jones financial advisors, Kurt Sutton and Heath Bowling, earned invitations to Edward Jones' annual managing partner's conference in April in San Antonio, Texas. The conference brings the company's most successful financial advisors together to discuss issues facing the firm and the financial services industry as a whole.
