Woman arrested on burglary, gun and drug charges

By Staff report

A woman was arrested Wednesday when Murray police found her with guns reported stolen earlier that day.

Officers said that they were responding to a "suspicious person" walking near Northwood Drive when they found Savannah Kendall sitting on the steps of an apartment building and showing signs of intoxication.

Kendall allegedly told police she was carrying nothing illegal, but officers said as she stood they noticed a rifle concealed under her jacket, slung over her shoulder.

Officers said they detained Kendall, who gave permission to have her backpack searched.

Police allegedly found multiple items -- including a .22 rifle and 9mm pistol from a prior burglary that day -- and multiple drugs with related paraphernalia.

Kendall was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary; two counts of receiving stolen property, firearms; carrying a concealed weapon; theft; first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance; third-degree possession of a controlled substance; public intoxication; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
